The introduction of Chick-fil-A as the valued title sponsor of the bowl in 1997 produced the first ever professionally designed Chick-fil-A Bowl web portal. Initially the site’s goal, much like all sites in the late ‘90s, was to be an online version of the bowl sales team’s marketing brochure. The site was flat and not very interactive. In the fourth quarter of 1997 ebroadcasters media was asked to provide creative service ideas for the bowl and recommended streaming the audio play-by-play and post in-game digital photography in real-time, over the web. Webcasting a bowl game had never been attempted prior to 1997.
With the success of the webcast and digital photography, ebroadcasters cemented its position as the bowl’s website content provider and has since continued to provide innovative creative services.
Each year the site has grown in the number of visitors attracted by the ever increasing unique content and interactive features. The site’s successful impact on bowl game ticket sales is dramatic as the percentage of tickets sold online grows each year. Chick-fil-A Bowl.com has become the website in which all other bowl sites measure themselves. |
